Heavenly Vege-Sandwich

This is my own recipe concocted with anything that I can find in the fridge for some light snack. However, this version have been upgraded for more satisfaction of taste. Please bear in mind that this recipe use ingredients that can easily be found in Asia particularly in Malaysia. If you found that one of the ingredients is not obtainable within your region, I will provide suggestion for substitution but do not limit yourself with what I've suggested, instead, use what is available to you and to your liking.

Ingredients:

1. 2 salad leaves.
2. 1 tomato.
3. 1 pack of tempe (soy bean cake)
4. Mayonnaise
5. 1 Lime
6. 2 slices of bread
7. 1 chili
8. Salt and pepper for seasoning.

Instruction:

1. Wash clean the vegetables.
2. Slice the tomato into thin slices to your liking.
3. Cut the chili open through the middle. Extract the seeds and the chili's core.
4. Slice the chilies thinly.
5. Take some mayonnaise and put it in a small bowl.
6. Cut the lime into half and squeeze some lime juice to the mayonnaise.
7. Put some salt and pepper to taste into the mayonnaise.
8. Mix the infused mayonnaise evenly.
9. Cut the tempe vertically right down the middle to produce an even two halves.
10. Cut horizontally of the two halves like filleting a fish to produce thinner slices of tempe.
11. Heat up some oil in a pan. Fry the tempe slices until it is golden and crisp.
12. Arrange all of the ingredients in between two slices of bread in anyway to your liking.
13. Finally, heat up a little amount of oil on a pan oven a medium fire and make sure that the oil is evenly distributed on the pan. Place the sandwich onto the pan and press the sandwich with either a spatula or a clean, flat, heavy and heat resistant item onto the sandwich for 30 seconds where the bread should be slightly crisp and brown. Flip carefully to crisp the other side of the sandwich. When the other side have turn slightly crisp and brown, turn of the heat and remove the sandwich and place it on a plate. Thus, your Heavenly Vege-Sandwich is ready to eat.

Substitution suggestion:
1. If you cannot obtain any tempe, you can replace it with other vegetables such as eggplant where you can slice the eggplant into thin slice and grill or pan fried the eggplant slices. Eggplant that is cooked this way become very sweet and delicious.

2. Any addition of other condiments such as tomato ketchup, chili sauce, bbq sauce, tobasco sauce or mustard sauce is entirely up to your own palate and taste. Feel free to experiment. :-)

3. Any other addition in ingredients such as cheese slice, chicken breast slices, turkey slices, etc is up to your own creativity.
